Abstract:
The cruise KH 2018-709 aboard the Research Vessel Kronprins Haakon is the second process cruise of the project the Nansen LEGACY. LEGACY is the Norwegian Arctic research community’s joint effort to establish a holistic understanding of a changing marine Arctic climate and ecosystem. The cruise contributes to process studies investigating the atmospheric, oceanographic, radiative and other physical controls on sea ice, stratification and ocean circulation north of Svalbard.
The data set is a compilation of data from the following instruments provided in separate files:
CTD: 67 profiles of salinity, temperature and density using ship’s conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) system
LADCP: 63 profiles of horizontal currents from the lowered acoustic Doppler current profiler (LADCP) system attached on the CTD rosette
VMP: 43 ocean microstructure profiles using a vertical microstructure profiler, VMP2000
AUV: 76 profiles of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, carbon dissolved organic matter, and Chlorophyll a fluorescence collected using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV)
SADCP38DK: 5-minute time-averaged horizontal current profiles from the 38kHz vessel-mounted acoustic Doppler current profiler (SADCP)
SADCP150DK: 5-minute time-averaged horizontal current profiles from the 150 kHz SADCP
