Polar Data Forum IV

From the organizing committee of the Polar data Forum IV we have received this information:

We are pleased to announce that Polar Data Forum IV will be co-hosted online by the Royal Belgian institute of Natural Sciences and the European Polar Board (EPB) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) in The Hague (NL) from September 20th to 24th, 2021. This event will be co-organized with the Second Southern Ocean Regional Workshop for the UN Ocean Decade and Hackathon and focus on the polar oceans.

Publication of data management system in NorDataNet

Recently, a peer-review publication describing the underlying concept and data manangement system for NorDataNet was published. The research paper is entitled The Norwegian National Ground Segment; Preservation, Distribution and Exploitation of Sentinel Data, and is focusing on is using the same data management system as in NorDataNet, but the context and project is different.

Third Polar Data Forum

The Third Polar Data Forum is arranged in Helsinki November 18-22 2019. During this meeting there will be a number of training sessions as well. Further information is available at Deadline for abstract submissions is August 16th September 6th.

WMO is reorganising

WMO is reorganising. The reform is focused on coordination of systems for observations and data management, standardisation of observations and measurements, provisions of mechanisms for engaging with partners beyond the WMO community and to harmonise services for decision making and socioeconomic benefits.
