Third Canadian Polar Data Workshop (CPDW3)

From an invitation received recently from CCADI-CFI Project Manager Ravi Darwin Shankar:

Hello everyone,

On behalf of the Planning Committee for the Third Canadian Polar Data Workshop (CPDW3), we invite you to participate in the upcoming workshop which is a follow-up to previous Canada wide consultations held in 2015 and 2017. CPDW3 will be held February 18-21, 2020 at the Banff Centre for the Arts, 107 Tunnel Mountain Drive, Banff, Alberta, Canada. The workshop will be hosted through partnership between the Canadian Consortium for Arctic Data Interoperability, Canadian Cryospheric Information Network/Polar Data Catalogue (CCIN/PDC), Polar Knowledge Canada, and numerous other organizations.

The Third Canadian Polar Data Workshop will be structured to reach specific outcomes through working group sessions and consensus building on themes such as the need for a national data management strategy for Canada, data discovery and federated search, all aspects of data interoperability, and other themes related to polar data broadly defined including knowledge transfer and Indigenous data policies. The workshop will also include a hackathon to advance technical aspects of polar data management in Canada. Your input and contributions in the form of poster presentations are also welcome to highlight important issues related to polar data management.
