An interactive service that can be used to validate NetCDF datasets against CF and ACDD conventions have been added to the Support section. This is available through https://nordatanet.metsis.met.no/dataset_validation/form.

Recently the search interface and backend services supporting this has received a number of upgrades which have improved functionality. We are now harvesting metadata on a regular basis from several partners, but some issues still need to be handled. Some problems are handled in the harvest process or prior to ingestion, but some issues require handling on the provider side.

Approach to data packing

There is increasing interest in merging research data and metadata into a (zipped) folder structure or self-describing package. Inspiration is taken from usual software packages (with readme.txt and licence.txt files).

Today, May 14th, there is scheduled maintenance in the data rooms at the Norwegian Meteorological institute. this may cause interruptions in services.
