EUDAT organizes the conference “Putting the EOSC vision into practice” in Porto, Portugal, late January 2018. The conference will present latest trends in data infrastructure and data management solutions for research, demonstrate solutions developed by EUDAT for specific user communities, present the newly established EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure (CDI) and discuss the establishment of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the European Data Infrastructure (EDI).

Research data management experts from CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives) has just released a comprehensive guide to data management, covering all phases of the data life cycle from initial planning to archiving and publishing. The guide is found at https://www.cessda.eu/DMGuide. Among others it contains a downloadable checklist for preparing a Data Management Plan.

I prosjektet Nasjonalt Bakkesegment (NBS) jobbes det bl.a. med gjøre Sentinel produktene fra ESA tilgjengelig over norske interesseområder. Nettstedet satellittdata.no tilbyr foreløpig to portaler; Én som speiler portalen til ESA og én som vi bygger internt på samme prinsipper som for nordatanet.no.

The metadata search is now implemented and working. Currently only some products from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute are listed, but we are now harvesting metadata from the the other nodes and testing the quality control and ingestion. This will continue for the next weeks. The current implementation will be updated early 2018. The main fixes in the enxt release will be better utilisation of facets from the search engine. Furthermore, the current version is checking the content of OPeNDAP datasets while searching, this will be moved to a preprocessor step in the next version.
